(Golden) Hammer Time

The annual Golden Hammer Awards were announced in ceremony last week and we are pleased to report that BAM was clapped at on several different occasions. Presented by the Better Housing Coalition’s newly created Center for Neighborhood Revitalization, the awards recognize projects that make a strong contribution to the preservation and revitalization of Richmond’s historic neighborhoods.

While it just missed being awarded the coveted Green Hammer Award, the Studios at South Richmond received recognition for its many sustainable features.

Our friend and long-time client, Ron Stallings was awarded the Andrew Asch Historic Developer Award for his work in Jackson Ward, including this project, this project and this project. Even better, the awards ceremony was held in the historic Hippodrome Theater, which is a BAM project more than 10 years in the making.

Thanks to the BHC and congratulations to all the other talented folks in our community working to keep our neighborhoods thriving. Many thanks to our clients and everyone involved with these projects, we are pleased as punch. Now we just have to figure out how to display our hardware – does anyone know where we can find a golden pegboard?
