BAM Architects is an award winning design firm founded in 1998 by Burt Pinnock, Anne Durkin and Mary Lorino and operates its sole offices in the Scott’s Addition area of Richmond, Virginia. As a certified minority- and women-owned business in the City of Richmond and the Commonwealth of Virginia, we offer planning, architecture, interior, and graphic design services. The premise of our firm has been and continues to be focused on the difference we, as architects and designers, can make to (1) our community, (2) our world and (3) ourselves.
We recognize that seemingly disparate things are really all connected. This informs our wide-angle view of design, and ultimately our understanding that positive, thoughtful contribution may take many forms. As reflected in our portfolio, BAM’s experience ranges from urban master plans to reception desks to civic memorials to graphic brochures. While diverse in outcome, the process behind these projects shares a foundation of comprehensive assessment of our client’s particular needs and the ability to address them in the most effective and meaningful way.
We believe in the future and that it is worth a significant investment, understanding that decisions made today will impact our lives well beyond tomorrow. Our designs are driven not by point tallies or labeled certificates, but by respect - for our environment, our clients and our community. As we see it, we are all in this together.
