Ben is an intern architect who, after several productive summers of loitering around the office, officially joined BAM in 2009 where he has worked on a variety of architecture and graphic design projects. Most notably, his fine graphic hand can be seen on the recently unveiled historic markers which comprise the Richmond Slave Trail. In addition, he has worked on numerous mixed-use adaptive reuse projects and has played a key role as part of the design team for the City of Richmond’s new Huguenot High School.
A lifelong resident of Richmond, Ben has gained an appreciation for the complex interaction between old and new. A graduate of VCU’s Interior Design department and UVA’s School of Architecture, he also has a fine appreciation of good design across all scales. He is the firm’s resident guru of all things REVIT and is happy to parametrically model just about anything you would ever need in a building, and doesn’t understand why other people don’t feel the same way.
Ben provides diversity to the firm as the sole graduate of that “other” Virginia university up the road in Charlottesville and is the only person to routinely wear a tie and vest to the office. In addition to his skillful knowledge of architecture and interiors, he has obtained lethal mastery of several martial arts and of mustache wax.
