Kevin joined BAM on the fateful day in 2004 when Hurricane Gaston nearly washed the city away. He has worked on a variety of commercial, residential, educational and adaptive reuse projects since joining the firm and is particularly useful when it comes to “the computer.” Kevin has served in a variety of roles on projects for the City of Richmond, the Commonwealth of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Capital One, the Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority and numerous private residential and commercial clients.
Prior to architecture, Kevin received multiple degrees in Biochemistry and served as a lead author on several scientific papers. We aren’t sure exactly what he was researching, but it had something to do with muscular atrophy and small RNA molecules – whatever those are. Regardless, Kevin’s tendency to focus on fine details has proven useful on BAM’s myriad adaptive reuse projects and he particularly enjoys dealing with issues of construction in the field.
Kevin has served as Adjunct Faculty in the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. He is also a regularly invited critic in VCU’s Department of Interior Design and Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture + Design, where he gives the occasional slideshow on matters of professional practice. Preferably set to music.
Professional Degree: M. Arch, Virginia Tech; M.S., Biochemistry, University of Georgia; B.S., Biochemistry, Virginia Tech
